This will be Kevin McCarthy’s 21st and final Annual Legal & Legislative Update for KHRMA.
As usual, he will present a comprehensive summary of the most important legislative, regulatory and judicial employment law developments over the past year. He will also analyze how employment laws have changed over the past 20 years and over the course of his 40 year career and how they may further change in the next few years. Oh yes, he will also include a special game for this going-away presentation.
Do not miss this program! It will be both fun and informative.
Kevin McCarthy was a labor and employment lawyer representing employers for over 39 years. This representation included small to large organizations, unionized and non-union operations and private and public sector employers. After 37 years in private practice, including 12 with a firm he founded, Kevin became the in-house General Counsel for a national staffing company in June 2016 and retired from the active practice of law in September 2018. He is a proud graduate of Kalamazoo College and the University of Michigan Law School.
Kevin has happily volunteered as the Legislative Representative for his local SHRM Chapter, the Kalamazoo Human Resource Management Association, since 1998 and has also served on the boards of many non-profit organizations. Currently, he is on the boards of the Kalamazoo RESA Foundation and the Michigan Health and Hospital Association’s Keystone Center.
While he is officially retired, Kevin will be teaching a labor relations class at Western Michigan University in the upcoming Spring semester and is available to assist employers with objective, outside investigations of alleged workplace misconduct by employees, including sexual harassment.
