Globalization is influencing the need for multinational companies to put in place programs that support an environment of consistency and flexibility across the organization.  This session with discuss the goals and objectives of creating a common global leveling framework which defines and levels jobs across functions and countries.  This session will also include a discussion about the creation of a global job catalog - system of job families, sub-families, career streams, and career levels to be used around the globe. 



At the end of the presentation, the participants will understand the following about Global Leveling: 

  • What is Global Leveling?
  • Why should companies bother with establishing a Global Leveling Framework?
  • What are the typical challenges / issues multinational companies typically face when implementing a Global Leveling Framework
  • What are the benefits of multinational companies putting in place a Global Leveling Framework?
  • What are the guiding principles of developing and implementing a Global Leveling Framework – how to get started?

Sherrie Webster Brown, Principal, at Mercer’s Chicago Talent Business Office.  Prior to joining Talent Business, Sherrie was a consultant within the International Consulting business. Sherrie was also the Accounting Manager for several years for Mercer's Chicago office where she was responsible for all areas of financial accounting.  Sherrie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from DePaul University.  She is a member of WorldatWork TM where she holds the distinction of Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).  She has authored several article-se including:  “Spanning the Globe for Quality Pay Data” (WorldatWOrk, Survey Handbook & Directory) and “The Challenges of International Pay Analysis” (WorldatWork).

Sherrie has worked with a broad range of clients ranging from multinational companies with overseas branches and subsidiaries to locally US based companies in various industries. 

She has over 15 years of consulting experience where she leads projects in the areas of rewards strategies, base and variable pay program design, job evaluation, job leveling, career, framework and implementation strategies which are consistent with business goals and objectives. 

Her consulting experience includes working with clients to effectively manage their compensation programs in the US and around the world.  This includes work on compensation issues such as cash compensation and total remuneration, competitive pay assessments, job analysis, global job evaluation and job leveling, salary structure design, base and variable pay program design and implementation as well as other broad based rewards issues.
