Michigan’s Top HR Professional Award

Call for Nominations open on July 18th, 2024!

Michigan’s annual Top HR Professional Award was created to highlight and recognize exceptional performance and outstanding achievement by a professional in the field of human resource management. HR professionals throughout Michigan, at all levels of experience, industry background, and specialties are eligible to be nominated (or self-nominate) for this award.

Past winners of this award are Individuals who have exemplified the highest standards of the profession and promoted and contributed to the evolution of HR within their business, organization and in their community. Specifically, we seek to affirm and distinguish individuals who can demonstrate accomplishments in the following areas:

  1. Understanding and moving forward the "Business of HR" – substantially affecting business outcomes through HR management, strategy or development;
  2. Metrics –specific measurements of performance related to their HR work;
  3. Community service – impacting their community beyond their workplace;
  4. Developing talent –developing and growing the future workforce; and
  5. Business support – partnering effectively with associates from other business functions to support their efforts and reach common goals.

Please nominate an HR Professional who made a significant impact on the HR Profession in Michigan.

To be eligible for consideration for the MISHRM Volunteer of the Year Award, the nominee shall:
  • Nominee must be an HR practitioner employed in a Human Resources role in Michigan.
  • Nominees can be in any level of HR position and have any experience level in the field of Human Resources.
  • Individuals can self-nominate or nominate a peer for the award.
  • Nominees must be a national SHRM member and/or a member of a local SHRM Chapter.
Although multiple nominations can be submitted for each nominee, only one nomination is required to ensure eligibility for the award. The awards committee, comprised of members selected by Michigan SHRM Council, will evaluate all entrants and select a winner.
Winners will be recognized at the MISHRM Annual Conference October 13-15, 2021 in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Nominations should be submitted no later than 5:00 PM (EST) September 9, 2022.
